Early Intervention and Injury Management

Service Aims

To deliver leading Health, Safety and Injury Management advice to employers and claimants reducing overall costs to the business. This aims to empower employers with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to more effectively manage their internal systems.

We also aim to empower the claimant/injured worker to proactively manage their injuries

The Rehab Factor aims to assist you to manage your workers injuries, maintaining them at the workplace or co-ordinate their early return to work. This intervention is aimed primarily at improving employee health and reducing overall costs to the business.

This is a reliable service with high standards and internal quality assurance mechanisms to ensure a consistent service at all times.

Service Provision

  • Referrals are requested as soon as possible following incident or injury. Our experience indicates that if intervention commences immediately, workers compensation claims can be minimised if not avoided altogether.
  • Intervention strategies are agreed to by all key parties including the treating practitioner/s, employer, injured worker and rehabilitation consultant to ensure maximum success.
  • Intervention with the injured employee is designed to overcome fear and avoidance behaviours and negative beliefs regarding returning to work.
  • Clear and open lines of communication are adopted throughout the rehabilitation process

Vocational Assessment & Job Seeking Specialists

Service Aims

  • To work as a partner in the process of identifying realistic future vocational options with claimants and to identify future suitable employment.
  • To assist in the development of a job seeking plan as required by the Victorian Workcover Authority for those participating in the Job Search Assistance Program.
  • To provide advice regarding job seeking including:
    • Preparing a resume
    • Writing application letters
    • Attending job interviews
    • Clarifying the strategy for job seeking that suits the vocation being sought.

This is a reliable service with high standards and internal quality assurance mechanisms to ensure consistent service delivery.

Service Provision

  • Referrals are requested as soon as possible after it is known that the pre-injury employer is unable to maintain employment for the injured worker.
  • A vocational assessment is completed in the first instance and the results of this are discussed with all key parties including the Treating Health Practitioners to ensure that options identifi ed are considered realistic by all involved in the process.
  • Provision of group sessions or individual meetings are arranged with claimants to provide advice regarding job seeking activities, preparing a resume, writing application letters, attending job interviews.
  • Intervention is aimed at empowering the claimant to independently job seek with confi dence. Support is provided in areas where it is assessed as required.
  • Training is identified if required and discussed with the relevant insurer if this is likely to improve job prospects.

Occupational Health and Safety

Service Aims

To assist employers and meet their obligations under the relevant OH & S Act in their state/territory by providing advice and assistance to develop policy, procedures, practices within their companies.

Service Provision

  • OHS Audits can be conducted to clarify areas of non conformance to required systems/practices
  • OHS Policy and procedure development in line with the culture of the organisation
  • Traing can be provided relating to a number of OHS areas.
